Ideation

Published:

Ideation is the stage where a team explores what could be built before committing to one plan. It starts with generating possibilities, then shaping the stronger ones into concepts that can actually be tested. The goal is to move from vague ideas to clear directions that a team can evaluate quickly.

An idea can sound great and still fail if the data isn’t available or the risks are too high. Strong ideation frames each concept as something that can be tested, with a clear sign for what would make it worth building. It also surfaces constraints early, such as privacy or safety limits, so they don’t become surprises later. When ideation works well, it produces a short list of concepts ready for prototyping, each with a clear learning goal.
